Mommy Secrets was created to support and educate a community of moms on the benefit of a more natural way of mothering while providing a selection of American, mom made products to enrich their lives as mommy. Mommy Secrets is owned and operated by Emily Goodwin, who is wife to Nick and mommy to Noah, Owen, and Micah. Prior to becoming Mommy, Emily graduated from Shorter College with a degree in Christian Ministry. She worked full time as a Kindergarten teacher and served full time in ministry with women and children in crisis. She has always been interested in "Natural" Living but it wasn't until a medical scare in 2006 that she really started changing her lifestyle. Shortly, after giving birth to Owen 5 weeks premature in the beginning of 2009, Emily felt her calling in life change. Owen's birth taught her many more beneficial aspects of "Green Living" and she strongly felt a desire to share this knowledge with other moms like herself. In the fall of 2009 Emily started Mommy Secrets. The goal of Mommy Secrets is for it to be more than a retail company, but also a support system for moms. We carry a variety of natural products that we have used, loved, and above all else have made our lives easier. Some of our products are even made by some of our closest friends. Mommy Secrets is a company that is passionate about supporting and educating moms of all ages with children in all stages. In 2012 Emily will be opening a brick and mortar learning center and retail store for moms in the local community to come and learn how they can start enjoying a healthier lifestyle with their family. The new center will offer a variety of classes from yoga and fitness to organic gardening, knitting, and of course cloth diapering. Emily dreams of the day when she can provide such an a place for moms everywhere. Mommy Secrets' ultimate financial goal is to be absolutely debt free and give a portion of our profits back into the community to support moms in need. More than 95% of our sales come from local moms. Above all else, Emily loves to help moms feel confident in following their natural instincts. Mommy Secrets exists to teach and help other moms realize that being "green" is fun, easy and affordable, as well as better for their families! |
